chitaku.ai — map assets served from this origin =============================================== `style.json` on this path is a MapLibre style. Its VECTOR TILES are still fetched live from 国土地理院 (Geospatial Information Authority of Japan) at `https://cyberjapandata.gsi.go.jp/xyz/optimal_bvmap-v1/{z}/{x}/{y}.pbf`. Only the GLYPHS and the SPRITE are mirrored here, and they are mirrored so that a visitor looking at a map does not have their IP address sent to a host outside Japan. Before 2026-09-12 both came from `gsi-cyberjapan.github.io`, i.e. GitHub Pages, in the United States. 1. Glyphs — `glyphs/{fontstack}/{range}.pbf` -------------------------------------------- 出典：国土地理院最適化ベクトルタイル （https://github.com/gsi-cyberjapan/optimal_bvmap） Copied verbatim, unedited, from the fontstacks this style names: `NotoSansJP-Regular` and `NotoSerifJP-SemiBold`, 256 ranges each. The upstream repository publishes a third fontstack, `NotoSerifJP-Medium`, which this style does not use and which is therefore not mirrored. 国土地理院コンテンツ利用規約 (https://www.gsi.go.jp/kikakuchousei/kikakuchousei40182.html) applies 公共データ利用規約 第1.0版 (PDL 1.0), which grants 複製・公衆送信・翻訳・変形等の翻案, commercial use included, on condition that the 出典 above is shown. That same 規約 warns that some content carries third-party rights which the user is responsible for checking. For glyphs it does: a glyph PBF is an SDF rendering of a typeface's outlines, so the TYPEFACE's own licence governs this mirror as well as the 規約 does. - `NotoSansJP-Regular` — Noto Sans JP. SIL Open Font License 1.1 — full text in `OFL-NotoSerifJP.txt`. OFL 1.1 §2 (`OFL-NotoSansJP.txt` lines 56-61) permits redistribution provided the copyright notice and the licence travel with the copy, which is what those two files are. §3 (lines 63-66) is the Reserved Font Name clause, and it is NOT engaged: the reserved name on Noto Sans JP is 'Source', not 'Noto', Noto Serif JP declares none, and these copies keep the upstream fontstack names unchanged. §5 (lines 74-78) IS engaged, and is satisfied rather than avoided. It requires the Font Software, modified or unmodified, to be distributed entirely under this licence and not under any other. These glyph atlases derive from OFL fonts and stay under the OFL — which is what shipping the two licence texts beside them says. The PDL 1.0 grant named above is 国土地理院's, for its own compilation and redistribution of these files; it is not a second licence over the typefaces, and nothing here re-licenses them. 2. Sprite — `sprite/std.json`, `std.png`, `std@2x.json`, `std@2x.png` --------------------------------------------------------------------- 出典：国土地理院最適化ベクトルタイル （https://github.com/gsi-cyberjapan/optimal_bvmap） 119 map symbols (官公署, 裁判所, 交番, 小学校, 神社, 寺院, 病院, 自然災害伝承碑 …) drawn by 国土地理院, under the same PDL 1.0 grant. They are map symbols, not the 「シンボルマーク、ロゴ、キャラクターデザイン」 the 規約 excludes. Mirrored verbatim, including one upstream quirk worth knowing: `std@2x.png` and `std@2x.json` are BYTE-IDENTICAL to the 1x pair, and every entry in the JSON declares `pixelRatio: 1`. Upstream ships no true retina sheet, and neither does this mirror. Replacing `std@2x.png` with a real 2x sheet would need `std@2x.json` regenerated with doubled coordinates; do not swap one without the other. 3. What is NOT mirrored ----------------------- The tiles. They are read live from 国土地理院 in Japan on every map view, which is also why 測量法's 複製・使用 申請 does not arise: the upstream repository states, in full, 「最適化ベクトルタイルは基本測量成果と位置付けているものではありませんが、 基本測量成果としての提供を検討するにあたって、試験的に公開を行うものです。」 and a live read needs only 出典 in any case. The second half of that sentence is the half that matters to a mirror: publication is EXPERIMENTAL, and the same readme sets its term as 「公開期間は、2022年9月6日から公開終了 までとなります。」 So 国土地理院 may end it. What that would and would not do to this copy: the PDL 1.0 grant under which these bytes were obtained is not revoked by the upstream publication ending, so files already redistributed stay licensed — but our ability to REFRESH them ends with it, and the live tiles would stop first, which is the visible failure. How this origin serves them ------------------------------ `glyphs/` and `sprite/` are returned `Cache-Control: public, max-age=31536000, immutable`, and the glyph PBFs are typed `application/x-protobuf` so they are compressed on the wire. The files are content-stable: a refresh replaces the set and bumps the style's version, and the STYLE is the versioned document. This note and the two OFL texts are deliberately NOT immutable — they are legal copy and have to be correctable the day they are found wrong.
